Ulrik Bengtsson was appointed CEO on 30 September 2019, having been appointed CEO Designate on 5 September 2019.
He joined the Group as Chief Digital Officer and a member of the Group Executive Committee in April 2018. Ulrik was previously President and Chief Executive of Betsson Group, the Stockholm listed betting and gaming company that operates via gaming licences in 11 countries across Europe and Central Asia, until stepping down in September 2017.
Ruth joined the Group and was appointed as Chief Financial Officer with effect 2 October 2017.
Ruth joined William Hill from Worldpay Group plc, having joined Worldpay in October 2013 as Deputy CFO and subsequently been appointed COO in December 2016. She was appointed Non-executive Director at Motability Operations Group plc in 2018. She was previously Group CFO of EMI Group and, prior to that, worked for the private equity firm Terra Firma Capital Partners as a finance director, working across numerous portfolio businesses with a focus on strategic and operational transformation. Earlier in her career she worked at Whitbread and Bass, after starting her career at Unilever. Ruth has a degree in Biochemistry and is a Chartered Management Accountant.
Joe joined William Hill when the Group acquired Brandywine Bookmaking LLC in May 2012, the US bookmaking business he had established in 2008. He is CEO of William Hill US, overseeing the Nevada sports books and mobile sports betting, and the provision of bookmaking services to the Delaware Sports Lottery. Joe has a long background in the gambling industry and a lifelong passion for the race and sports betting business. He held management positions at several racetracks and was the youngest track announcer in North America. Prior to Brandywine Bookmaking, he was Managing Director of the gaming affiliate of a global financial services company. He was an Attorney with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, served a judicial clerkship with the Supreme Court of Delaware and is admitted to the bar in Delaware and New York.
On his betting habits, Joe says: “Horse racing has been a passion of mine my entire life and so nothing beats a day at the races at Del Mar in August. That's the perfect type of bet for me.”
Nicola started at William Hill on 12 April 2010 – “two days after the Grand National, and the place was still buzzing from the event”, she says. She joined from Deloitte and spent most of her previous 15 years in the professional services industry. She was appointed Director, UK Retail in June 2014, having previously held Audit and Risk Management roles within the Group.
Nicola is a ‘petrol head’ – her favourite sport is Formula 1 and she’s a massive Lewis Hamilton fan. A Yorkshire lass, her favourite team is the Leeds Rhinos rugby league team.
Patrick joined the William Hill Group in March 2019. He brings a wealth of experience gained within the digital entertainment industry where he began his career at Endemol working his way up to Director of Participation TV. Following this role he moved to Digital Director for the Netherlands lottery and then to MD of Betsson where he assumed responsibility for the businesses CRM, marketing and product. In his spare time, Patrick enjoys playing squash competitively, in 2004 he won a squash competition in his home town against 40 opponents from neighbouring towns and cities.
Phillip Le Feuvre joined William Hill in 2018 following 14 years in Ladbrokes Coral, having joined Coral in the first instance. Prior to being in the betting and gaming industry he worked in the travel and tourism sector with British Airways and as Sales and Operations Director for an Online travel retailer. Phillip is passionate about delivering the best customer experience in the industry and using technology as a means to enhance the experience and deliver value to the business. An avid sports fan, Phillip spends a lot of his personal time watching and attending sporting events with football, racing and rugby being his favourites.
Karen joined William Hill in April 2015 as the Group's Human Resource Director. Prior to that, Karen was HR Director for UK and Western Europe at RSA Insurance where she spent six years and lead a team of 200 HR employees.
Karen began her career on the Marks & Spencer graduate programme. She has held a number of senior HR roles at Tesco, BT and Barclays, where she developed and implemented HR strategies and interventions, increasing revenue, reducing cost and improving employee engagement.
Karen has an MA (Hons) in Modern History from Dundee University and is a member of the Institute of Directors. She is also Chair of the William Hill Foundation. Karen is a keen football supporter and holds a season ticket at Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Crispin started his career in investment banking at N.M.Rothschild & Sons rising to Senior Manager responsible for Telecoms Media and Technology deals, before taking on corporate development and strategy roles at ITV and BSkyB. Crispin left Sky in 2004 and raised funding to set up his own TV and online gaming business (Gaming Media Group), building the world’s largest TV channel dedicated to gaming (The Poker Channel), and an award-winning Power 50 gaming site PokerHeaven.com. He expanded the business internationally both organically and via acquisition, and expanded into online casino and sports-betting verticals, before selling the Channel in 2013 to a VC-backed European games channel. He then joined William Hill, working in the Corporate Development Office for two years, advising the online business on operational strategy, partnerships and investments, and overseeing the Shoreditch office’s innovation and product development projects.
Crispin was appointed Interim MD of WHO in Jan 2016, and permanent MD in May 2016, before assuming his current role in April 2018 in which he has oversight of strategic growth opportunities for the Group globally, with the US opportunity being his immediate priority.
Phil joined the Group in January 2019 as Managing Director for UK Online. He previously spent nearly eight years with Gala Coral Group and Ladbrokes Coral, including roles as Remote MD, Group CMO and prior to leaving as Managing Director – Ladbrokes Coral Digital. In his early career he held a number of senior roles in major UK multi-channel businesses including Great Universal Stores, Littlewoods, B&Q and PC World in marketing, omni-channel and managerial posts. Phil is a passionate sports fan, following football, cricket, Formula 1 and any other sports he can find a spare hour to watch.
