William Hill Opening odds for the 2009 Barclaycard Mercury Prize

"Once again The Barclaycard Mercury Prize has put together a cracking short-list and it looks like the judges will have a tough time picking the winner - It will be interesting to see who the punters go for", said Hill's spokesman Rupert Adams.

8/1 Lisa Hannigan - 'Sea Sew'

10/1 Led Bib - 'Sensible Shoes'

10/1 Sweet Billy Pilgrim - 'Twice Born Men'

The overall winner of the ‘2009 Barclaycard Mercury Prize’ will be announced at the 'Albums of the Year' Show on Tuesday, 8 September 2009 and broadcast live on BBC2 Television.
