Ł25,000 Bournemouth Punter Is Banking On Kauto For A Cracking Christmas Bonus

Never mind a white Christmas, a Bournemouth man with a cool £25,000 in his coat pockets is betting on a Star this year.

Described by the shop staff as a 'jolly older gentleman in a bobble hat' the punter walked in to his local William Hill betting shop on Christmas Eve and laid down his £25K at 8/13 on hot favourite Kauto Star to win the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton on Boxing Day.

A fourth victory in the race for Kauto would mean the punter will collect a lovely £40,384 for his festive bet.

David Hood, spokesman for Hills commented; "The shop staff described him as a jolly 'older' gentleman in a bobble hat, but they definitely confirmed there was no white beard or red coat! Seriously though, it's a cracking bet and would be a hell of a Christmas Bonus, we wish him all the luck in the world."
