Talented Buick 10-1 For Championship After Clarehaven AppointmentBookmakers William Hill have installed William Buick as a 10-1 chance for next season’s Flat Jockeys’ Championship after news was announced that he would join John Gosden’s Stables for the forthcoming season. It won’t be the first time that Hills have quoted the 21-year-old to become Champion Jockey. Back in October 2006 one Wiltshire punter placed a £200 bet for Buick to become a Champion before 2016 at odds of 66-1! The son of former-Scandinavian Champion Walter Buick could prove a major contender for next season’s honours with his new link with Clarehaven, and also strong relationships with Andrew Balding, and Mick Channon – for whom he rode his first Group One winner for last season. Kate Miller, spokeswoman for William Hill, said: ‘’This move propels William Buick into the major league for Jockeys. Punters became enamoured with him during his conditional days, and he’s been popular ever since. His new appointment could end up causing the bookies some major headaches!’’ 2010 British Flat Jockeys’ Championship: 2/5 Ryan Moore, 5/2 Kieren Fallon, 8/1 Richard Hughes, 10/1 William Buick, 20/1 Jamie Spencer, 33/1 Paul Hanagan, Seb Sanders (Win Only) FOR FURTHER DETAILS David Hood: Tel: +447803 233689 or dhood@williamhill.co.uk Jennie Prest Tel: +44 7740 735464 or jprest@williamhill.co.uk Kate Miller: Tel: +447725446317 or kmiller@williamhill.co.uk Tony Kenny Tel: +353 868589276 or tkenny@williamhill.ie |
