Penitent 10-1 For Competitive William Hill Lincoln As Entries Announced!

PENITENT 10-1 FOR COMPETITIVE WILLIAM HILL LINCOLN AS ENTRIES ANNOUNCED!

A captivating start to the turf flat season was promised today as a bumper field of 97 entries were announced for the 2010 William Hill Lincoln Handicap.

Sponsors William Hill have appointed William Haggas’ lightly-raced Penitent as their 10-1 ante-post favourite. The four-year-old has just five careers starts to his name and was last seen finishing second in a competitive Southwell handicap off a mark of 93.

2009 winner Expresso Star looks set to top the weights, and is available as 16-1 with Hills to repeat Babur’s 1950’s illustrious feat of back-to-back wins. Stable-mate Doctor Crane, and last year’s William Hill Spring Mile winner Manassas join him as co second-favourites.

The Irish contingent also hold a trio of entries in the famous one-mile handicap, with two surprising additions for Jim Bolger and Willie Mullins in the form of 25-1 chances Toraidhe, and Settigano.
