Master Minded Odds-on For A Third Win & 5-1 For A Second-day Demolition

MASTER MINDED ODDS-ON FOR A THIRD WIN & 5-1 FOR A SECOND-DAY DEMOLITION

Just three runners have failed to declare at the six-day stage for next week’s Champion Chase on day two of the Festival – where Master Minded remains odds-on with William Hill to notch-up a third successive title.

The seven-year-old is a 5-6 chance with Hills to emulate the great Badsworth Boy and complete a hat-trick of wins in the two-mile Championship race, where his nearest rival is 9-2 chance Kalahari King.

The dual-winner is viewed by many as one of the bankers of the meeting, indicated by William Hill’s special market on how far the gelding will win by. A distance of four to ten lengths is the 7-2 favourite, with just 5-1 available that he returns to the form of his first win and demolishes the field by over ten lengths.

Kate Miller, spokeswoman for William Hill, said: ‘’This is a year fraught with danger for the bookies, with an unprecedented number of short-priced fancies bolstering the punters’ position. It is interesting however that out of the ‘big four’ Master Minded is the one that punter’s seem least interested in.’’
