Housewives Take To The Baby-faced Boys For £10 Million Derby Glory - Bookies Running Scared

HOUSEWIVES TAKE TO THE BABY-FACED BOYS FOR £10 MILLION DERBY GLORY - BOOKIES RUNNING SCARED

Britain’s bookies are facing a new kind of enemy in Saturday’s Epsom Derby, in the shape of baby-faced jockey sensations William Buick and Tom Queally and William Hill fear that a win for either of them would cost the betting industry more than £10 million.

20-year-old Buick has his first Derby ride on Saturday aboard 11-1 chance Azmeel for his boss John Gosden, who trained 1997 winner Benny the Dip. The enfant terrible of the weighing room has already enjoyed immense success earlier this year when landing Dubai’s £2million Sheema Classic in March and the bookies are running scared once again. Lining up alongside Buick and looking to break his Derby duck at his first attempt is Irishman Tom Queally aboard Classic legend Henry Cecil's Bullet Train, the 7-1 third-favourite.

"They look so angelic and every mother in the land will want to take them to their bosom," explained William Hill’s Kate Miller. "That is why they have become the housewives choice this year. But, a win for either of them would cost bookies millions and the problem is, that below those baby-faced exteriors lies a persona chiseled from granite and the ability of a future champion. Despite their tender years, or maybe because of it, we fear the public popularity will snowball on Saturday and they could win upwards of £10 million for their petticoat fans.’’
