Goldkiova 7-4 To Become First Triple Breeders’ Cup Winner

Bookmakers William Hill have installed Goldikova as a 7-4 chance to become the first horse to ever win three consecutive Breeders’ Cups after the French wonder-mare completed an impressive win in the Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot this afternoon.

Handler Freddie Head highlighted further targets for the five-year-old, in tandem with her campaigns of previous years. En-Route to America, the daughter of Anabaa will compete in the Prix Rothschild, and Prix Jacques Le Marois.

Kate Miller, spokeswoman for William Hill, said: ‘’ Goldikova really is the Queen of the milers with her ninth Group One victory here today. Her trainer Freddy Head has declared an interest in returning to the Breeders’Cup, and it would seal her status as an equine legend if she were to complete the unprecedented hat-trick under the Twin Spires in November.’’

Byword – engaged in the Prince of Wales’s Stakes was cut by Hills to 5-2 from 3-1 for tomorrow’s race. The Andre Fabre-trained colt finished just half-a-length behind Goldikova in last month’s Prix D’Ispahan.
