Stoute 4-11 To Add The Championship To His Seasonal Haul

William Hill have reopened betting on this season’s Flat Trainers’ Championship where multiple winner Sir Michael Stoute is priced as the 4-11 clear favourite.

The Master of Freemasons Lodge has the chance of overhauling the current money leader Richard Hannon with a double- handed crack at tomorrow’s King George where the first prize tops £567,000. Currently holding the first two in the betting with Workforce (10-11) and Harbinger (5-2) an additional second-place prize win of £215, 200 would put Stoute over £600,000 ahead of his challengers.

Hannon also holds top class ammunition in the coming weeks, most notably in the Sussex Stakes, where he handles the odds on (8-11) favourite Canford Cliffs and recent Prix Jean Prat winner Dick Turpin, currently a 4-1 shot with Hills. Should Hannon have the winner of the race, there is a £300,000 guaranteed prize pool, which is sure to provide useful in an attempt to keep up with his fellow challengers.

Kate Miller, spokeswoman for William Hill said: “There is still all to play for in the trainers’ championship, with Ascot, Goodwood, and York all providing heavy-weight prizes. Stoute looks certain to coast ahead by the end of the weekend, but with so many high-profile meetings still remaining we expect to see a close-fought end to the Flat season.’’
