Man Booker Prize: Clued Up Thesps C Potential In Mccarthy’s Novel

Bookmakers William Hill have slashed the odds of Tom McCarthy’s novel ‘C’ winning the Man Booker Prize after taking a large number of bets from well read punters. When the longlist was announced, McCarthy’s novel was quoted at 12/1. However, Hills now make it 9/2 joint favourite for the prestigious award. Christos Tsiolkas’ ‘The Slap’ has also been cut from 16/1 to 9/1 and Damon Galgut’s ‘In A Strange Room’ has drifted from 16/1 to the 20/1 outsider.

“There have been a few movers in the market, but Tom McCarthy’s novel is the one that has struck the biggest chord so far for Booker punters,” said Hill’s spokesman Graham Sharpe.

William Hill Man Booker Prize Odds:

9/2 David Mitchell The Thousand Autumns Of Jacob de Zoet
9/2 Andrea Levy The Long Song
