Ł1 Million Riding On A Flake Of Snow!

Bookmakers William Hill's White Christmas liabilities have topped the £100,000 mark, the first time in thirty years of betting on a White Christmas that Hills liabilities have topped six figures before December. The biggest bet so far is a £1000 wager on snow in Aberdeen and was placed by a pessimistic punter in Perth (Australia). As a result Hills have cut the price of snow in Glasgow and Aberdeen from 6/1 to 4/1 and offer 6/1 that it will snow in London and Cardiff on Christmas day.
"Met office predictions of a record breaking cold winter have stimulated unprecedented interest in the White Christmas betting. We are now confident that industry wide in-excess of £1 million will be gambled before December 25th. We are still mystified by why a Australian punter would place £1000 on snow in Aberdeen but we are happy to offer him 50/1 for it to snow in Perth (Australia) on Christmas Day." said Hills spokesman Rupert Adams
