Italy Slashed To 10/1 For World Cup Glory

The favourites continue to win their Group games and the outright betting for who will win the World Cup 2006 is starting to hot up. Brazil remain the 5/2 favourites with Bookmakers' William Hill and England are 5/1 second favourites but a number of the other teams have been cut through the course of the day and Italy are now 10/1, Argentina are priced at 13/2 and Germany 7/1. "We desperately need a few favourites to fall as so far it is definitely 1-0 to the punters. After all this, God forbid that England go on and win," said Hills spokesman Rupert Adams.

World Cup Winner: 5/2 Brazil, 5/1 England, 13/2 Argentina, 7/1 Germany, 10/1 Italy, 12/1 Holland, 12/1 France, 14/1 Spain, 22/1 Czech, 25/1 Portugal and 40/1 Mexico.
