Anyone can become at risk of problem gambling and it’s clear that some people are especially vulnerable.
For the vast majority of people, gambling is a safe and fun activity. However, people do experience problems and these can develop both over time and more quickly.
An estimated 340,000 people in the UK are identified as problem gamblers (source: Gambling Commission). And there are more people who are at risk of developing problems with their gambling. When problems develop, it also impacts a person’s family, friends and community.
We’ve taken steps already to protect our customers – but there’s more to do. That’s why we’ve set the ambition that nobody is harmed by gambling.
