CPG quiz night
2019 marked the first year of the William Hill Foundation’s 3 year partnership with Alzheimer’s Society.
Through the partnership, we aim to become the leading Dementia Friendly business in the industry, providing a safe environment and making information about the disease readily available to our colleagues and customers. Reflecting the scale of the challenge around dementia, we will also aim to raise significant funds for the charity, contributing towards critical research and treatment for the disease. Our international locations are also part of the commitment, partnering with local charities that are part of Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI).
Throughout 2019, colleagues participated in fundraising activities including the charity’s ‘Memory Walk’ and ‘Elf Day’ campaigns. The Foundation also ran its first ‘Forget Me Not’ Gala quiz evening in partnership with the charity, hosted at the Royal Horseguards Hotel in London. Celebrity hosts of the quiz, which was attended by 200 guests, included Sir AP McCoy and comedian Hugh Dennis. They were joined by Bargain Hunt’s Charles Hanson who hosted our live auction on the night, which helped ensure the event raised £85,000 for the charity.
2020 will see continued fundraising efforts for our respective Alzheimer’s partners across the globe, as well as the full rollout of the charity’s Dementia Friends initiative across the organisation.
